POP of Color

Recycled upholstery that makes a statement

“There is no such thing as 'away'. When we throw anything away it must go somewhere.” -- Annie Leonard

LEFT: Calculated Chaos, titled by my 14-year-old daughter, is a series of 20 works created using recycled upholstery samples on paper. This series is the first of several under the umbrella name POP of Color, which I will continue to expand upon in the coming year, using the hundreds of upholstery samples that were recently donated to me for use in art. Read the full story here.

Available for purchase, a portion of each sale will be donated to the Catherine McAuley Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a non-profit which provides refugees and immigrants with employment-readiness education and job-seeking support, as well as assistance navigating community resources like transportation, healthcare, and housing. Also, through the Women’s Services program, women who have experienced trauma find individualized support, basic needs assistance, and therapeutic and skill-building opportunities.
