REAWAKENING

Inspired by nature and influenced by modern style with sophisticated minimalism, this early spring's Earth-themed collection embraces imperfection and celebrates renewal.

Abstract shapes, rich contrast, and soft hues create a peaceful and contemporary reimagining of spring.

"My art is meant to be in conversation with its surroundings. Sometimes it's the bold, powerful voice in the room that takes center stage, and sometimes it's the chorus that pulls everything together." -- Akwi

FOR THE ADVENTUROUS

Abstract shapes become traces of landscape, terrain, and architectural features. You might find the essence of bridges and boulders, buttes, canyons, and plateaus, reminiscent of southwestern terrains.

FOR THE CONTEMPLATIVE

"I see a coming together and also separation, connections and discovery. Each section of the painting is trying to discover how it fits, where it belongs."

- a young art student who happened into the studio as Akwi was working and whose name is on a post-it note somewhere in the studio.

FOR THE BOLD

Cliffs, streams, crevices, and cracks where light gets in are presented in striking hues of electric blue, poppy red, vibrant jasper and paprika, with marks of black and white. "These are also nature's colors when we really look closely at nature and not rely just on our traditional collective notion of landscape art." -- Akwi
