The Spark to Really Start Something

"From me, truth flame-flies from lips,

fire flutters like kite wings,

strings tethered to the anchor in my belly:

the pepper, the spark, an ember-seed, freedom-flame

w/its own power to really start something."


This title is pulled from the above lines of my own poetry as a message to my daughters (all our daughters), an encouragement to explore the fire that burns as inspiration, and a reminder that the inspiration can grown into something uniquely one's own and good for this world.
