In the Evening | Limited Edition Print
In the Evening is a visual meditation on the cyclical nature of modeling for the next generation trust, intimacy, and love.
Inspired by Nikki Giovanni’s poem of the same title, about intimacy, closeness, and trust. In her poem, “evening” functions both literally and symbolically: it’s not just about nighttime, but about the sunset of a cycle. There’s a sense of peace, safety, and understanding that love is something witnessed and learned by the next generation as a kind of inheritance.
My original painting, inspired by Giovanni's poem, is 48x60x1.5” and is available for acquisition.
FRAMING: paper prints are not framed (shown framed for inspiration). If you would like your print custom-framed in my studio with professional materials and UV-blocking acrylic, please contact the studio after making your print purchase.
CANVAS prints are framed in a light maple floating frame. If you would like a different option, please contact us.
LIMITED EDITION: There are 50 prints of each size available. Each is numbered and signed by the artist.
Print Process
All artworks are printed using archival-grade pigments. Canvas prints are printed on exhibition grade matte canvas. The materials and process ensure long-term, archival stability for both paper and canvas prints.
Sizing
IMAGE SIZE: Sizes in the store reflect the image size.
PAPER: Unframed paper prints include an additional 1” white border which increases the paper size. For example, the image of a paper print is 24x30” — and is listed as such in the store — while the paper size (which includes a 1" white border) will measure 26x32”.
FRAMED CANVAS: Framed canvas will add 1 1/4" to each dimension. For example, a 24x30" framed canvas will measure 25 1/4 x 31 1/4" (with the image measuring 24x30").
Framing Options
Paper prints are available unframed. Unframed (rolled) paper prints have a 1" white border, within which is Akwi's signature.

Canvas prints are framed and are 1.5" deep. Canvas prints are carefully hand-stretched over solid wood stretcher bars, then attached to a custom made wood floater frame. All frames are made to order.
Product Details
Paper Giclee Print: Custom printed on hot press fine art paper. Archival-grade and acid-free to ensure a long print life.
Canvas Print: Custom printed on archival-grade canvas; pH neutral and acid-free, so it won’t yellow over time. Comes with floater frame option(s).
Please notes: Prints have been color-matched with the original painting to ensure accuracy. Colors may vary from screen to screen and environment to environment.
Because each print is custom-ordered, all sales are final.
