As I completed this Pour Me Water diptych, I was listening to Nigerian singer Mr Eazi's song of the same title. Eazi is known for pioneering Banku music, a fusion of genres and influences from Nigerian and Ghanian music delivered in Pidgin English. Of the meaning behind the song he says it's about when, “You know something is not going to work but you still just want to stay in that moment.”

This is a piece in the ongoing body of work titled POP of Color. A portion of the proceeds from each sale in that body of work will be donated to the Catherine McAuley Center. In June, thanks to previous purchases from this body of work, I donated $112 and that amount was matched by Kepros Physical Therapy and Performance.
