The Underground
Welcome to a non-traditional arts venue — part studio, part stage, part soul space — where visual, literary, and performance arts blend with movement and healing. It’s where creative seeds sprout and community grows. We host painting and creative workshops (even for those who think they're not creative), pop-up exhibitions, short film screenings, readings, spoken word events, artist talkbacks, and more.

This inaugural event of spoken word + literary performance art at The Underground features:
✨ Quad Cities-based spoken word poet Henry Morray who's also co-producer for the series.
✨ Iowa Writers Workshop poet Warren C. Longmire who hails from Philly and -- with several published books of poetry -- has been published in the American Poetry Review.
With featured musician:
✨ Iowa City-based Penny Peach who's an incredible songstress of the alt-rocketh variety.

• Open mic slots are filled by signup at the door and limited to 3 minutes per person
